Gemma & Shawn had a beautiful summer day for their West Vancouver wedding. They had their ceremony on a gorgeous little beach around the corner from Gemma’s family home. It was wonderful to have the ceremony in a spot that meant so much to Gemma. For their portrait session we took them to a few spots along the way to their reception at the Glen Eagles Golf Course. Shawn’s favourite part of the photo session was when we all were almost run over by a train! Gemma had wanted to get photos on train tracks. Thank goodness we had just gotten her off the tracks and we had just started photographing the groomsmen when a train came barreling in. We had to run like crazy to get off the tracks in time. When we were all safe Roger turned to me and asked if I got a photo of us running. I so wish I had but at the time I was too busy saving my own skin. I don’t have the fearless constitution that James Nachtwey has.
Thank you, Gemma & Shawn, for a fabulous day. Congratulations!

Isn’t Gemma stunning?
I love this giggle between Gemma & her mom that Roger captured.
Shawn wasn’t looking too shabby either!
Gemma & Shawn had these beautiful banners made with their initials.
Such a pretty view (and I don’t just mean Gemma in her gorgeous dress!)
Oopsie, sometimes we end up in each others shots.
Their lab, Denver did such a good job as ring bearer!
We went to Gemma’s family home for the family photos.
The lovely wedding party.
We love these shots on the train tracks. It was all worth it!
Shawn made all the flies for the table numbers and Gemma’s dad made the coasters for the guests.
The speeches were absolutely hilarious.
