Sarah & Nathan’s Stanley Park Wedding

Sarah & Nathan had a beautiful wedding in the forest in Stanley Park on the summer solstice. The first wedding I ever photographed was on the winter solstice so I was excited to photograph another solstice wedding. The weather was absolutely spectacular on Sarah & Nathan’s wedding day with the sunshine streaming down through the trees. Whenever our clients ask us what other people do on their wedding day, we always tell them that it is their day and to do their own thing. Nathan & Sarah definitely did this and it was wonderful. Sarah & Nathan’s ceremony was a celtic handfasting¬† and instead of exchanging rings their hands were bound together with beautiful rope. They had their family members give them a blessing and add a piece of rope to their knot. Sarah & Nathan did a beautiful job including all of their guests in the ceremony who each came up and gave the couple a blessing while tying a bell to their rope of life.¬† We love intimate weddings like this, where the most important people to the couple, who have helped them along in their life together so far, were there. There was barely a dry eye among the group. It was a really touching and emotional ceremony for everyone, including me (I’m getting so good at taking pictures and crying at the same time). We loved too Sarah & Nathan’s unique style and how the clothes they wore went so well with the forest setting. We played around amongst the ferns and the gorgeous trees for their portrait session. Then we went to the always lovely Teahouse in Stanley Park Restaurant to cover their cocktail reception before we went on our merry way.
Thank you, Sarah & Nathan, for including us to be a part of such an incredible day. It was an honour. Congratulations!
