We are two very different artists, each with a unique point of view, who have come together in business (and in life) through our shared passion for wedding photography to create Union Photographers.
While Roger’s timeless aesthetic, and attention to detail produces images that evoke the significance and emotion of the occasion – Holly’s discreet, documentary approach is about capturing the often intimate, light-hearted moments that will make your wedding day the most memorable of your life. Though we each have found expression for our passion in a distinctive style, it is when our photos are experienced together that the magic truly happens. In photography – as in life – we are stronger together. Just like our clients.
Working With Your Union
First of all, we totally understand how strange it can feel to be in front of the camera. You’re not mannequins, and we don’t expect the picture-perfect pose from you. It is our job to put you at ease when we’re taking your photo, mostly by being goofs to make you laugh. We’ll guide you with some gentle posing to bring out your best. Even though we love cheese, we won’t ask you to do any silly poses that will make you feel ridiculous.
We put about 8 to 10 hours of preparation into every wedding because we only have the one day to get it right. From phone calls, emails and meetings with you, to location scouting and attending the rehearsal, we take every opportunity to find out as much as we can about you and your wedding day. We believe that the secret to great photography is being prepared and having the ability to adapt to any situation — because no matter how prepared you are things can change at the last minute.
Above all, it is your wedding day, so we want you to enjoy yourselves. We’ll be there with you, cheering you on, helping you find your missing wedding rings, helping you sew up your bridesmaid’s dress, feeding you trail mix so you don’t pass out, sneaking photos of your mom who hates having her picture taken, and cleaning up any makeup that got onto your wedding dress, all while laughing together. (All true stories) It will truly be an amazing day in your lives, and we want to help you capture it all.
